Welcome I-LYA Juniors
We're all about kids, and sailing ... and kids. This site is dedicated to young sailors participating in advanced dinghy sailing and racing in the Lake Erie area.
The I-LYA Junior Sailing organiization promotes...
• Good Sportsmanship

• Team Building
The Yacht and Sailing Clubs that make up the I-LYA Junior programs sail in US SAILING Area E and cover an area as far south as Columbus, OH - as far north as the Detroit area - from Erie, PA in the east - to Indianapolis, IN in the west. Regattas are held at different participating yacht clubs throughout the sailing season. The calendar of regattas is available online or from your Club's I-LYA Junior Contact.
The boat classes raced by the I-LYA Juniors include Optimist, C420, Laser Full Rig, Laser Radial, and Thistles.
Seminars & Training are available locally as well as at schools and clubs across the country.
Each Club that participates in I-LYA Junior Sailing has one representative to the I-LYA Junior Activities Committee. The Committee is led by an elected Council consisting of a Chair, Vice-Chair, 3 Area Representatives (East, West, Inland), a Competitor Represenative, and a Coach Representative. The Committee is governed by the Points of Reference document, adopted by the Committee. The Junior Committee meets bi-annually at the I-LYA Spring and Fall Meetings.
